Classes

Yin Yoga

This classification of yoga involves sequences that focus on cultivating energy within through a combination of slow moving and static poses. Think of slow, soft, internal, cooling, surrendering, downward energy. Passive or Directional breathing techniques are utilized to connect to your body through a deep level of physical and mental relaxation. In contrast to yang sequences, the muscles are mostly disengaged with the goal of healing the body through deep tissue relaxation in poses targeting specific areas where energy blockages are commonly found. Expect mostly floor postures held between 2-5min utilizing gravity with lots of props to aid you in the correct alignment for the most effective way to relax while in poses that would otherwise be too uncomfortable to hold without the correct support. All classes are heated to at least 26C or more and are labeled with a black color block. 

Yang Yoga

This classification of yoga involves sequences that focus on building energy through movement. Think of external, warming, focused, active, upward energy. You can expect a dynamic flow of poses that steadily increase in speed and intensity as you cultivate heat through moving from one posture to the next led by the breath engaging specific muscle groups along the way. Ujjayi breath is utilized in these classes to warm the body and circulate energy. Examples include but are not limited to vinyasa, hatha, ashtanga etc. Each specific type of yoga ranges with how much yang is present in the practice depending of course upon the unique expression of the instructor’s guidance. All classes are heated in varying temperatures and are labeled with a gold color block.

Qi-Gong

This is an ancient practice for less stress and more energy. It’s simple, easy to learn, and for all ages and fitness levels. In this class we practice breathwork, warm up, activation, stretching, flowing movements, and standing postures. This improves the circulation of energy through the organs and meridian lines of the body and cultivates more health and vitality. Much like a Yin Yoga class your energetic attention is focused internally while connecting your breath and body. Aside from the meditation you can expect mostly standing postures to not only aid you in slowing down but grounding into your place of power. You get the benefits of both complete relaxation and revitalized energy. 

Thai Yoga Massage

In these classes we hold space for you to unwind and let go of all the stresses and tension of the week through guided meditation and massage exchange with a partner. You and a partner will experience the wonders that Nuad Bo Rarn - better known as Thai Yoga Massage - have to offer. During this class you will be led through a series of dynamic & passive yoga stretches that work to increase flexibility and blood flow combined with acupressure techniques which focus on releasing tension and energy blockages in the body. All of which is given & received while remaining aware of our breath, allowing you to reconnect with your physical and subtle bodies, and leaving you feeling rejuvenated and re-energized. These classes are labeled with a teal color block under the Class Schedule tab.
